Welcome back! How is it going for you? What are you noticing about yourself?
Are you excited to move forward or dumbfounded about what you have realized? Again, this is about becoming aware of your mindset as it exists today. It doesn’t have to stay this way. You are at choice of how you operate on a daily basis.
Next in the Success Clarifier, it is time to create a list of the most prominent views of your past successes. In this next step, the Success Clarifier will challenge you to reflect on the past events and to expand your awareness of what success is and looks like, and what success feels like.
We will chunk up and separate your views of past successes into three phases of your life. So, if you are 30 years old, think back first to any successes that you remember from age 0-10. Then record your successes from age 11-20, and then finally from age 21-30. Try just listing 3 successes or wins in each age category.
Once you have written your successes and wins down, then review what you wrote down and notice how it aligns with your current view of success. Are they in alignment or were the successes you wrote down outside of the current definition you realized? No judgements here, we are just looking at your observations and awarenesses.
If they are different than what you originally thought of as being a success, no worries! If they match perfectly, then your current view is pretty solid. You may still want to expand or change it, but just notice how the alignment lays out. You will be asked to write down your insights. Many successes are organized around major life events such as graduation from high school or college, getting married, or hitting your first home run.
Next comes a bit more challenging part of the Success Clarifier. The Success Clarifier pushes you to dig deeper into your memory banks for MANY more successful events. You might be able to come up with a few more right now, so I encourage you to make this step a several day process.
Write down what you can remember now and when you run out of ideas, put it away for the day and come back to it tomorrow and add to your list. Repeat this for the next 2-3 days until you have reached the required number of successful events. Finally, you will be asked to review all of your successes and to notice if as you dug deeper, did the definition of success change. Journal on what surprised you about these new events. Note what you struggled on and where the most memories came from in your life and at what phase of your life.
Note any new awarenesses and then come back for Step 4.
As always, have fun and happy exploring!
